The Coalition of Youth & Students to Enhance Peace and Democracy in Liberia (CYCEPDL) has expressed serious disappointment  over the impeachment threat issued by Representatives Acarous Gray and Bhofal Chamber against President Sirleaf.
CYCEPDL: “The Coalition of Youth & Students to Enhance Peace and Democracy in Liberia strongly detests such baseless call which has no progressive motive, but just intended to tarnish the good reputation of Madam Sirleaf. We want to say in an unequivocal tone that this call for impeachment is insincere, and lacks any iota of constitutional reliance.  The record of Madam Sirleaf is widely known from her years of service from 2006 to current.  She has consistently been and continues to be an exemplar of transparency, accountability, and overall impeccable integrity in her service to Government.”
CYSEPDL: “According to our research conducted, the President of the republic of Liberia Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has not breached any constitutional provision constituting impeachment.
We therefore believe that this is a debased propaganda against the President of the Republic of Liberia, and only intended to tarnish her hard-earned positive public image. We can only speculate that such malicious actions against Madam Sirleaf are intended to undermine her and perhaps discredit her the international community.”
The Group has however commanded the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) and the Liberty Party for distancing themselves from such 'undemocratic process' because it is not in the interest of the general populace.
They called on all Liberians to join us in condemning such impeachment call coming from Honorable Acarous M. Gray of Monserrado County and Honorable Bhofal Chambers of Mary Land County respectively. “We want to call on the government not to give credence to such erroneous, unpatriotic, falsified and unscrupulous call from those honorable who are misrepresenting their various constituencies at the 53rd National Legislature,” they added.
