Executives of Cape Mesurrado Omega Leo or Lion's Club In an effort to ensure an effective and efficient running of the daily operations of the Cape Mesurrado Omega Leo or Lion's Club as a global and noble capacity building institution for young people especially those under the ages 18 to 35 years, the organization has concluded a two day intensive capacity building Seminar for 20 of its members in Montserrado County.

The two day seminar was held to enable young people play a leadership role in the organization by mobilizing and training them in several basic skills that will make them serviceable in the society.
This leadership training exercise for young people undertaken by Lions is arguably the first of its kind in the history of 'Lionism' in Liberia, and was made possible by its parent club, the Liberty Intelligence Our Nation Safety which is Lions for short.
Speaking at the beginning of the workshop, the President of the Lions Club in Liberia, Mr. Clemency Urey used the occasion to call on young people in Liberia to do away with vices and engage in positive adventures, if they are to be successful future leaders of the country.
Mr. Urey warned that after 14 years of senseless civil crisis and self destruction, Liberia is at the cross-roads, where it needs proactive young people to take it through its social, economic and infrastructure development drive.
The President of the Lions Club averred that LEO is about leadership, experience and opportunity and that those who are part of the organization or wanting to be, must go through these three exercises so as to impact the lives of the less fortunate and help make the world a better place for everyone to live.
He concluded by pointing out that upon the completion of the two-day workshop, they (the Leos) are expected to return and positively make a humanitarian service contribution to the larger society.Author's contact: Cell#: 0880795664
