 Representative Ballah G. Zazay speaking to journalists Citizens of District #2 in Margibi County have lauded their Representative Ballah G. Zazay for the donation of 10 new hand pumps worth over US$3,700 in the district.

 The citizens from benefitted communities in separate remarks on Saturday (Dec 29) hailed Rep Zazay for the gesture, noting that “giving us safe drinking water was like giving us life as we have long strived and suffered for clean water”.

 

Amongst communities that benefitted from the hand pump distribution on are, Gbaveelen Town in Charlesville, Peter Town, Dolo Town, Transit and Rock Hole Communities in Barclay Farm, Bethel City, Boakai Town, Congo Town and Section Five or Sarfine Community in Cotton Tree.

Receiving the pumps, citizens recounted on instances where there have been out breaks of cholera, diarrhea and other water-borne diseases as a result of the drinking and usage of unclean and contaminated waters which in most instances led to the death of relatives, friends and family members.

With the hand pumps as their Christmas and New Year gift, the people of District #2 noted that deaths and sicknesses caused by the lack of safe-drinking water was now over.

 They said they would forever remain grateful to their Lawmaker, who according them, has always identified with them even outside his legislative functions.

 The citizens wished there were more Ballah Zazays in their county because, according to them, they would have no problem but rather live in an earthly heaven.

Making separate presentations of the pumps on behalf of his boss and the entire office, the Chief of Office Staff in the office of the District #2 Representative Laurence Knowledin thanked the citizens for their level of cooperation with their Lawmaker during the year and called on them to continue their support to him.

Mr. Knowledin told the citizens the pumps were donated to the communities in fulfillment of Rep. Zazay's campaign promises, and meanwhile cautioned them to properly maintain them for the greatest good of their communities.

In his press briefing prior to the distribution exercise, Rep Zazay wished the President of Liberia, Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Vice President Joseph N. Boakai, his district and the people of Margibi a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

He disclosed that the construction exercises of the Harbel College, established by law as a result of a bill he introduced at the Legislature, would begin officially early 2013 and high school graduates would no longer have to commute to Monrovia and other places for college education, but would attain degrees right within their own district.

The Margibi District #2 Rep has also disclosed has all was now set for his usual annual comprehensive report to his constituent on March 6, 2013.
