Speaking specifically on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's (TRC) report Rep. George stressed “all the recommendations contained in the TRC report must be implemented to the letter.”
The though talking Liberian Legislator made it known that those who perpetrated war crimes during Liberia's 14-year old carnage in Liberia, cannot be allowed to go scot-free, especially owing to their refusal to admit wrong doings and seek forgiveness.
Although Rep. George did not name any suspects, he spoke amidst wild applauses from his audience during a town hall-style intellectual forum. The forum was held at the Brooklyn Center Youth Community Center (BCYCC) on Sunday, December 23, in the state of Minnesota.
The no-nonsense Liberian Legislator, who was repeatedly interrupted by applauses from the audience, emphasized that “those who live by the swore, must die by the swore” adding, if you make gossiping your career in life, people will also and always gossip about you too.”
Rep. George pointed out that those who willfully committed heinous atrocities against innocent civilians are nothing but power-hungry individuals masquerading 'PATRIOTS,”LIBERATORS' and 'DEMOCRATS.' He added that they must now be held accountable for their actions.”
“Those who designed and signed all of those Peace Agreements, must be willing and prepared to live up to what they designed and signed.” He underscored.
He observed that “although we Liberians are respectful of our leaders and others now in authority, we are not fools.” The outspoken Lawmaker pointed out, “No matter how long it takes, and criminal suspects must and will be brought to book.”
He however noted, “As a convicted follower of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I believe in forgiveness, but forgiveness comes only after those who committed sins confess and repent their sins, notwithstanding he concluded, “people must pay for their evil deals.”
