The development came as a result of renovation work done to the school by the Ministry of Education with support from UNICEF and the Japanese Government.
Speaking to The Informer on the school's campus in Vayenglay, Wialay Clan, Soe Chiefdom, Twah River District, on January 2, the Principal of the school Peter G. Winpea said through the kind courtesy of Ministry of Education a renovation work commenced on the school edifice in May 2012 and is expected to end January 15, 2013.
Mr. Winpea averred that the renovation on the school building include painting, removing and replacing of damaged doors and patching of verandas.
He added that other major works on the campus include the construction of a hand pump and a four-room modern toilet with septic tanks, replacing a pit latrine that has been there for decades.
Meanwhile, the administration of Leaman Elementary & Junior High School has heaped praises on the government for what they termed as “timely intervention” that has given the school a face lift and new future.
