In Salayea District he held a town hall meeting with the Chiefs and elders of the District along with Public Works Minister Samuel Kofi Woods and Foreign Minister Augustine Ngafua on issues of importance to the District.
In Voinjama, he cut ribbon to several road projects in the District and launched the pavement of the city's streets. He toured the Voinjama Multilateral High School that was devastated by the civil crises, held talks with authorities there and next door to the VMHS he was led on a guided tour by the President of the LCC, Dr. James Kollie, to the facilities of the Institution.
In Kolahun District he participated in a service at the Famous Episcopal Church in Bolahun, visited and held meetings with people of Massabolahun, Popalahun, Sosomolahun, Kamatahun, Yallahun and Porluwu and was briefed on the on-going hydro electric plant under construction in Yandahun by the Government of Liberia.
In these towns Vice President Boakai briefed the People about the development policies of Government and initiatives underway to give loans to coffee and Cocoa farmers to jump start the local economy of Kolahun District.
He is quoted as saying “we want to see the lives of our people in Kolahun District improved and promised to have authorities of the Ministries of Education and Agriculture come along with President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf when she visit Kolahun District later this year.
He inspected work ongoing at the Government guest house and toured the Kolahun Hospital to acquaint himself with progress and challenges since his last visit there at the beginning of 2012.
He also held talks with the Kolahun Muslim Association and briefly worshiped with the congregation at the God's Rod Pentecostal Church and toured the nearby 12 and half acre cotton farm cultivated by the women of Kolahun District and later met with the Kolahun District Student Union.
The Spokesman for the District said all the promises made by the Unity Party in Kolahun District have been fulfilled.
According to a release issued in Monrovia, Vice President Boakai was welcomed at an intercessory service in Vahun and ushered the New Year in at the Residence of Liberia's Ambassador to the Republic of Sierra Leone, Thomas Briamah, along with Lofa County Superintendent, George Seku Dunor.
At the town hall meeting with citizens of Vahun District, speeches were made by the traditional council, the Muslim and Christian Communities, the Marketing Association, the Rural Women and the District Health Team in which all of them praised the Unity Party led Government for the initiatives in the District.
While in Foya District where the Vice President spent the Christmas holidays, he toured the Mendikorma Customs post and raised concerns about the condition of the facilities and noted that he would contact the relevant Agency of Government for clarification.
Vice President Boakai met with representatives of twenty villages that are expected to come together at the border town of Dopa in order for Government of provided services to the people instead of having villages of two, three or four houses asking Government to provide basic social services. If the program succeeds the Government of Liberia will use that as an example to bring towns and villages together for the provision of better social services.
In more development news, Vice President Boakai also toured the cattle ranch that is home to nearly nine hundred cows, a project undertaken by the people of Foya District.
Other projects inspected by the Vice President in Foya District included a thirty six acre cassava farm undertaken by the tailors union of Foya and a swamp Rice Project undertaken by Foya Youth United for Development and Progress and promised them the Ministry of Agriculture's involvement since this was a seed rice project.
Vice President Boakai also donated a twenty KVA generator to the Foya Borma Hospital to alleviate the acute need for power to the facility that also serve patients from, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
At the Intofawor Farmers Cooperative Society, Vice President Boakai inspected seed rice harvested from his farm and on Sundays worshipped at the Love Baptist Church in Shelloe, the Assemblies of God Church and the Free Pentecostal Church.
Vice President Boakai has thanked the people of Lofa for the level of commitment to the national development process.
