FPGML Youth Marching In the Principal Streets of Bong MinesOver 300 Liberian youth have concluded week-long leadership training in Bong Mines, Lower Bong County.
The leadership training which included Dynamics of Parental Relationship, Spiritual Coordination, Christian Youth and Society, Your Story-Surmounting the Challenges of Life, all were part of activities marking the first post-war youth conference organized by the National Youth Department of the Free Pentecostal Global Mission Liberia Incorporated.

The FPGML youth conference which saw intense worship service, prayers, parade for Jesus Christ, music, sports, concert and other forms of entertainment, had Senator Jewel Howard Taylor as some of its lecturers, including Rev. John S. Singbe, Decon Moses T. Bondoo, Pastor Joseph N. Kaiheyah, all of the Free Pentecostal Global Mission Liberia Incorporated, as well as Mr. Abel Plackie, National Secretary General of the of the youth department of the FPGML.

Speaking with this paper after the close of the week long religious gathering, the President of the Youth Department of the Free Pentecostal Global Mission Liberia Incorporated, Elder Kelvin S. Willie, Sr. thanked the Almighty God for the successful holding of the event, and praised the youth for the mature and discipline manner in which they conducted themselves throughout the conference.

“It is good that we have this kind of ga5thering because we need to get rid of this dependency syndrome and try to prepare our youth for the future” Elder Willie told this paper in exclusive interview Saturday.

Adding, “If the youth are to be independent, then, it means that they must be thought how to fish for themselves. They must be prepared with the necessary skills that would enable them sustain themselves even in the midst of scarce resources. This is the essence of this youth congregation.

Another purpose for the FPGML youth meeting, Elder Willie noted, “Is to ensure that the youth have a very upbringing. That this, the parents teach their children properly to be able to replace them when they're no longer around.”

The national youth conference of the FPGML church is an annual event that brings together hundreds of the church's youth community, and the 2012 youth celebration which took place in Bong Mines, Lower Bong County, brought together over 300 youth across Liberia.
