Speaking at the Robert International Airport [RIA] yesterday was the Education Minister of Botswana to Liberia, Dr. Pelonomi Venson –Moitoi a nd her delegation who paid a weeklong visit to Liberia to meet with Liberian Government officials.
Dr. Venson said there are so many countries that requested for assistant from her country, adding that Liberia was the first. She named Sudan, Malawi and Liberia. But Liberia was the first to make the appeal.
According to the Botswana Education Minister, the assistant will cause the Botswana Government about US$3 million for the first year. Meanwhile, the study will target Collage graduates and undergraduate students.
In response, the Liberian Minister of Education, Dr. Emonia Tiape welcomes the good gesture by the Government of Botswana to the Liberian people and pledged to support the process. She said the number of students and teachers to benefit from the program will be based on their qualifications.

The Government of Botswana has set up a four- year study program for Liberian students that are focusing on science, Agriculture, and education to enter the city of Botswana for study. Teachers are also expected to benefit.
