Three officials of the Liberia United for Sustainable Development (LUSD) have disclosed that plans have been finalized to plant cassava on its 25 acres of farm land located in Kakata, Margibi County.
The leadership of the Independent Mano River Transport Union of Liberia (IMRTUL) has expressed thanks and appreciation to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for accepting and recognizing the IMRTUL operations in the country.
The Senior Pastor of the Guiding Star Temple Church in New Kru Town, Bushrod Island, Rev. Aloysius N. Nimely, has admonished Liberians to refrain from vices that have the propensity of tarnishing the image of Liberia amongst the comity of nations as we enter 2013.
He said that the time has come for Liberians to turn away from the bad virtues that destroyed the nation during the 14 years of civil conflict.
Rev. Nimely made the statement on Sunday when he delivered his New Year Sermon at the church's edifice in the Borough of New Kru Town.
He said there is a dire need for Liberians and foreigners to be supportive of the Ellen-led Administration to enable her achieve her goals.
Speaking on the theme “Your decision will determine your future”, the Pentecostal prelate said this is the time for the citizens to formulate strategies that will buttress government's plans in promoting national reconciliation, peace, unity and reconstruction.
Rev. Nimely who took his text from the Book of Esther said the decisions Liberians make today whether bad or good will determines the future of Liberia.
He said that in 2011, Liberians made a decision by electing President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf so “we are under obligation to support the person that we soberly elected,” he said.
He also urged the youth of Liberia to take their education seriously so that they will become productive, effective and efficient future leaders tomorrow.
Pastor Nimely further noted that when the youth fails to achieve quality education, they will be unable to meet the challenges or the test of time.
Turning to the issue of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), Rev. Nimely warned fellow Liberians to desist from making negative statements in the media that will create another setback for the country.
He then advised the executives of NOCAL to avoid corruption that might create big problem and affect the lives of the people, recommending to them to engage in positive activities that will improve the living standard of the people.
