The Senior Pastor of the Georgia Patten United Methodist Church, Rev. Tehpambo M. Sayeh, said Methodist women are the light of the church and therefore called on them to rise up, shine and show light for the development of the church in the country.
Rev. Sayeh made these assertions on Sunday when he delivered a special sermon to mark the installation of the leadership of the Patten United Methodist women.
Preaching on the theme, “Who knows why” the Liberian clergyman told the UMC women to rise up wherever they find themselves and work harder for the growth and progress of the church. He noted that there may be trials and tribulations along the way; but urged them to place God above every endeavor in their quest to rise the state of the church.
Those installed were Palieh Harris, President; Elizabeth Juwle, Vice President; Lutiza Swen, Secretary General; and Gabreliro Sayba, Assistant Secretary.
Others include Regina Wah, Financial Secretary; Jestina Teah, Treasurer; Alice Kofa, Assistant Treasurer and Rebecca Jallah, Program Resource.
Also installed on Sunday were Cecilia Tapeh, Education and Interpretation; Helena Tweh, Social Concern; Esther Myers, Spiritual Growth; and Regina Wollor, Leadership Chairperson.
Performing the ceremony, the lay leader of the church, Sister Christina Harmon challenged the officers to shine for the congregation to follow as the growth of the church depends on them.
Speaking on behalf of her colleagues, the Vice President, Sister Elizabeth Juwle promised the organization's readiness and willingness to work sacrificially to improve the state of the church.
