Three officials of the Liberia United for Sustainable Development (LUSD) have disclosed that plans have been finalized to plant cassava on its 25 acres of farm land located in Kakata, Margibi County.
The leadership of the Independent Mano River Transport Union of Liberia (IMRTUL) has expressed thanks and appreciation to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for accepting and recognizing the IMRTUL operations in the country.
The Executive Directress of the United Rural and Urban Women Empowerment, Inc. (URUWOE), Mrs. Nancy F. W. Kolliemellen, is calling on the Government of Liberia to create more training programs for the women in the Country.According to Mrs. Kolliemellen, there is a need for better capacity training for the women because the nation depends on the women for development. She made the call recently during the year end and honoring program of some hard working officials of the entity. The program was held at the newly established head office at ELWA, Paynesville City.
Madam Kolliemellen said since the establishment of URUWOE on October 27, 2000, she has embarked on the training of women and given of local loans to women of the institution and its community dwellers.
She disclosed that over 250 women have benefited from the institution's gesture.
According to her, the institution is involved in Agriculture, Baking, Soap making, Healthcare Services, Computer Training, Sewing and Hair Dressing, among others.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Nancy F.W.Kolliemellen said through the grace of God, the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) was able look at their project proposal to help with the sum of L$250.000 which will be picked up at the end of January to help the institution with small skill loans for its members and community dweller.
The Founder\Field Officer of Panta-Kpai District Bong County, Mrs. Johnetta C. Bojah, thanked the Directress for such observation in honoring them for their hard work with the institution.
Making a special statement on behalf of the honorees, she said their commitment will continue to be with the institution until the organization is established within the 15 sub-political divisions of the country.
