President Ellen Johnson-Sir leaf has made a pronouncement in her annual address that she has increase civil servants salary by adding US$25.00 across the board.
The president made the disclosure on Monday, January 28, 2013 when she delivered her annual message to the joint session of the House of Representatives and the Senate at the Capitol Building.
Since the President's pronouncement about the increment in civil servants' salary, there have been mixed feelings from some civil servants and some Lawmakers.
We have gone nine days now; will the process start on the tenth day, since the pronouncement was made on January 28, 2013 by the president? Could this be another repeat of 2005 inauguration speech that “papa will come home with black plastic bag, and I declared corruption as public enemy number one”?
The President said a lot of good things that Liberians were going to benefit some of which include, youth empowerment, Education, Health, and safe drinking water, amount others. The implementation is what matters as it is said that a government that speaks and follows with actions is a government that is in the interest of the people.
