Holiday Inn Hotel CEO, H.M. Jawhary …Until thy Kingdom come…, the Proprietor of the Holiday Inn Hotel on Carey Street in Monrovia, Mr. Hafiz M. Jawhary says he stands prepared to institute more lawsuits against anyone, persons or institutions who might want to take the law into their own hands by attempting to illegally and criminally lease the said property.

Recently, Mr. Jawhary accused Cllr. James E. Pierre of attempting to allegedly lease the hotel to some business people in total disregard to the proper channel owing to the fact that the case involving the hotel is still pending before the court.

“I want to send out this strong warning to all would-be interested people and wishing to buy or lease the hotel that by so doing, they will be doing at their own risk, as I will not hesitate to drag anyone of institution to court”, Mr. Jawhary vowed.

Speaking to reporters in Monrovia recently, the Holiday Inn owner disclosed that he has obtained cogent information that certain businessmen and their partners were seen on the premises of the hotel, apparently on an assessment mission for possible lease agreement.

He reiterated that Cllr. James E. Pierre who is a rival claimant, has no right over the property, “Only the court has the gavel of authority to render judgment in the case, but for now, no one should do business with the Pierre family in the name of the hotel”, Mr. Jawhary disclosed.

“This is totally unacceptable, and no one is above the law, the hotel case is in court, and nobody is supposed to do business in the name of the hotel, when the case is pending before the court,” Mr. Jawhary indicated.

The Holiday Inn case between Mr. Jawhary and the Pierre family has been in the court, for a period of time following which an addendum was made.

“I have spent every penny I had, and owe to several local and foreign banking institutions millions of dollars,” he said. Mr. Jawhary added that it is a case that has caused him to lose his wife, caused him psychological embarrassment, and has also caused him to lose most of his properties at home.

Mr. Jawhary who has lived in Liberia for the past 48 years, dedicated the Holiday Inn Hotel in 1975 but was closed down in August 2005. The hotel suffered a setback few years ago when it was gutted by fire and entire property destroyed. He is meanwhile calling on the legal system of the country to remain impartial in the justice proceedings.
