The newly elected bishop of the Blesseth Apostolic Faith Church of Jesus Christ of Liberia, Elder Dessaline G. Geegbe, has been consecrated.

Bishop Geegbe was ordained on Sunday in the Borough of New Kru Town on Bushrod Island by the Bishop of the Christ Holy Temple of the Christ Apostolic Church Ministry of Liberia, Elder William W. Elious.

The consecration ceremony marks the end of this year's annual convention which brought together more than 300 delegates and observers from the denominational branches throughout the 15 counties of Liberia.

Performing the induction exercise, Bishop Elious admonished Christian leaders to refrain from negative activities that have the propensity to damage the image of the state and the church.

He urged leaders to set good example that the citizens will emulate to create mutual understanding, peace, unity and reconciliation among the people.

Bishop Elious advised the newly installed bishop Geegbe to open participatory administration to involve every member of the denomination to feel obligated in order to promote spiritual, moral and financial growth and development.

He said leaders should understand that they are not rulers, but servants of the people by working along with them to avoid confusion.

The Liberian prelate said the time has come for Christian leaders to formulate strategies that will help government in promoting national reconciliation for the betterment of the state and its people.

In his acceptance address, Bishop Geegbe commended the congregation for their support towards him over the years when he served as presiding elder of the church.

He said that accountability, openness, regular consultation with the members of the church will be his priorities.

He noted that this year's convention was held under the theme “To Every, There is a season and a time to every purpose under the Heaven,” with text Eccl 3:1.

Bishop Geegbe has encouraged members of the church to spread the Gospel to the unreached in an effort to save their souls in accordance with the Bible.

At the end of the 7th convention, several pastors, deacons, deaconesses, evangelists and other church workers were ordained and licensed as a green light to preach.

Meanwhile, Bishop Geegbe has appointed national officials that will run the affairs of the church in collaboration with the Bishop.
