Rep Edward Forh Embattled Montserrado County Representative Edward Forh has confirmed the audio recording involving him and the suspended Montserrado County Superintendent Grace Kpan, which revealed a telephone conversation between both government officials of dividing over US$400,000 of the county's development fund.

He described the episode as a “stupid joke” and vowed to clear his name.

In a telephone interview with the Truth Bread Fast Show yesterday (Feb 26) from the United States, Forh said it was Superintendent Kpan who raised the issue of a balance of US$400,000 in the coffers of the county and asked him (Forh) what to do with it.

According to him, knowing that there was nothing left in the coffers of the county, he told her to share the US$400,000 on the three of them (Rep. Forh, Supt. Kpan and Internal Affair Minister Blamo Nelson).
The voice recording which Forh confirmed to be his, states; “So what do we do with the balance US$400,000?” asked Superintendent Kpan.

“You eat some, I eat some and the minister eats some,” responded Forh, whose suspension call has heated up both in the public and among his colleagues at the National Legislature.

Forh has however, described the audio recording as a “trap” set up by Superintendent Kpan. “If I had known that the Superintendent was in the habit of recording me for the last 12 months, I would not have done such conversation with her,” Forh lamented.

Forh, who is also the Chairman of the Montserrado County Legislative Caucus, promised to cut short his trip to US and return home to proof his innocence. He called on his constituents not to panic over the situation as he will do everything possible to clear himself of the audio saga.

The audio recording has sparked public concerns with many persons calling on the house of Legislature to investigate the matter. But according to some members of the House the Lowe3r House, it has not received any official communication to that effect and as such  they cannot act on gossip.

However, the Press Union of Liberia has promised to officially inform the lawmakers about the matter.
